Also export and import grow.
Over the first nine months of the year, 5,946 construction equipment have been sold in the Italian market, up 33% compared to the same period of 2014. By analyzing sales results, figures consisted of 5.705 earthmoving machines (+30%), 241 road machines (+217%). According to the data of the Italian institute for Statistics processed by Prometeia, also export grew (+8%); particularly positive the export of tower cranes (+24%), followed by road machines (+16%), drilling equipment (+12%), earth moving machines (+8%), crushing and screening equipment (+1%), while it is stable the export of concrete equipment. Also import grew, up 27%, as well as the industry trade balance, which is positive for more than €1,140 million, has recorded a +3%.
“The result of the third quarter confirms the recovery trend of the Italian market” says Paolo Venturi, president of Unacea. “However, it is a growth that starts from a very low basis, because of the drop of the market up to 80% between 2008 and 2013. The scenario is very fragile because we see a limited physiologic replacement of some machines really outdated. To stabilize these positive signs and to meet undelayable national pressures, Unacea calls for a plan of action to secure the territory to the dangers of flooding”.
